INFO:
Trentini was a goalkeeper. He had his best period at Frosinone − 82 matches and 57 goals taken between 1965 and 1968 − and Foggia − 193 games and 171 goals suffered from 1968 to 1975. During his time at Foggia, he saved a penalty taken by Sergio Maddé in his first Serie A match, ended 1-1 against Torino on 27th September 1970. He's Foggia record-man for clean sheet with 1,001 minutes without taking goals. He's considered one of the best goalkeepers in the history of both teams. He played also for several other clubs including Hellas Verona − where he began his career. He retired in 1982.
Trentini was a good goalkeeper. Very able between the posts, he could make nice dives and saves thanks to a good reaction. He could push away crosses and shots from the distance, even powerful ones. He probably had decent technique for a goalkeeper since he was able to save with his feet as well. He had troubles though when he tried to block the ball − which often slipped out of his hands − or against angled shots − which almost always ended in goal. While he was safer inside the goal, he was reckless and not very effective when advancing forward to stop the incoming opponent in 1-on-1 situations. He used to come out late and was either easily beaten or he managed to steer the ball, which reached another opponent almost everytime.
