Massa was a right-winger remembered by Napoli's fans for having scored the 2000th goal in the history of the club. He was a tiny, slippery and fast player whose playstyle was based on dribbling but he also had a good feeling with the scoring ability; he was also a good assist-man, in fact the assists he made for Chinaglia are well renowned. His career started in 1965 at Internapoli but he immediately reached the Serie A the following season when he transferred to Lazio. However he debuted the next season in Serie B. He played for Lazio a total of 137 matches and scored 31 goals. He joined Inter in 1972 but he was never convincing and was sold to Napoli after only two seasons. The winger played four Serie A seasons at Napoli, scoring 24 goals in 102 games, winning the 1975-76 Coppa Italia, the 1976 Anglo-Italian League Cup, and reaching the 1975-76 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup semifinal. After leaving Napoli he played for Avellino from 1978 to 1981, appearing 65 times and scoring 10 goals. Here he scored one of Avellino's most important goals: a beautiful lob against Juventus for the final 3-3 thanks to which the team evoided the relegation in their first ever Serie A season. He retired in 1984 after a three-years spell in Serie C1 club Campania. A short video to remember him
