N'Gom Camara is a former side midfielder and winger who could play also as central and defensive midfielder. His career started in his native country of Guinea in 1992 at Kaloum Star where he played until 1995, making a total of 161 appearances, scoring 5 goals. He then transferred to Belgium where he played for Excel Mouscron between 1995 and 1997, and KSV Waregem in 1997-98. He had his best experience in Belgium while playing for KV Mechelen from 1998 to 2002 as he made 96 appearances, scoring 4 goals. He then played for Heusden-Zolder, Konyaspor, Ethnikos Asteras, Londerzeel, and once against Kaloum Star before retiring in 2015. He represented the Guinea national team from 1992 to 2005, earning 72 caps and scoring 2 goals.
N'Gom Camara was described as a wide midfielder who was comfortable on either side and with both feet. His mobility and versatility on the flanks allowed him to be effective as winger too. Due to his composure and excellent technical abilities, he was usually impeccable with the ball at his feet. He could cut inside comfortably from either the ride or left side but was never a prolific scorer. In his early career, he was seemingly fielded also as central or defensive midfielder, especially in his early days at Excel Mouscron, due to his defensive discipline and work rate.
