INFO:
Mubiru was a right-winger in midfield or attack. He was active at least from 1972 to 1979 and played for NIC Kampala, Express FC, UCB FC, and Nsbamya FC. He represented Uganda from 1973 to 1978 as the team's undisputed right-winger. He scored at least 4 goals for his country. He participated to the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations and would've undoubtedly taken part to the following edition as well if it hadn't been for an injury that forced him out for the entire 1978 season.
One of the greatest wingers in Uganda's history, Mubiru was nicknamed "tank" for his body type and physical power. He stood only at 5'5 and could've passed unnoticed, but his muscular body, sturdiness, rugged physical strength, powerful runs up and down the right flank, and ability to break through defences made him an intimidating player for any opponent. His agility, strength, pace and accuracy defied his body build. He was also gifted with eye for goal, a penetrating shot, and fine crossing ability that often provided assists to his teammates He was difficult to mark and almost impossible to bring down as one he had the ball, it could be hardly taken off him. Anyone who dared tackling Mubiru would like fail against his extremely hard thighs.
During a 1976 match between Express FC and KCC, Mubiri fell back to support his defensive line in order to stop the dangerous Moses Nsereko. Unfortunately, he did so by tackling him so harshly that he ruptured Nsereko's thighs.
