INFO:
Mulélé was an inside-left and left-winger. He spent his entire career at Patronage Saint-Anne where he started in 1961 and had his breakout year in 1964. He retired in 1980. He was a Congo international from 1962 to 1969 and scored at least 1 goal for the national team.
Considered one of the best players in Congo's history and one of the top stars in the country during the 1960s alongside Germain "Jadot" Dzabana, Foundoux was known for his technique, dribbling and scoring abilities that enchanted the crowds who used to scream every time he dribbled an opponent. Mulélé often used the nutmeg trick followed by a short sprint to get behind the opponent. He was given the nickname "Mulélé" (the name of a rebel leader) by CARA Brazzaville's supporters in 1964 after Saint-Anne's striker scored 4 goals in a 6-4 win despite his team playing 10 men to 11. The same year, he was named best player of the Congolese league.
Foundoux faced Pelé's Santos twice, the first time in 1967 and the second in 1969. Santos won 3-2 in both occasions. Both Mulélé and Pelé wore the jersey n°10. In the 1967 game, Mulélé had the audacity to dribble O Rei and make him fall after a nutmeg. The crowd started screaming and his teammates jumped on him as if he had scored a goal. That moment became legendary and unforgettable in Congo. Pelé gave the Congolese striker his jersey at the end of the match.
