INFO:Anber is a former sweeper or centre back. His career began at Al-Oruba in 1971. He left for Al-Sadd in 1975, making there 246 appearances until his retirement in 1988 and captaining the side from 1977. He was an international player from 1972 to 1984, captained Qatar for many years, took part to the 1984 AFC Asian Cup ─ scoring once ─ the 1984 Summer Olympics and seven Gulf Cups ─ he's the second player with most caps in the history of this tournament.
One of the most prominent players in the history of Qatari football, Anber showed high potential since his early career. He was considered as a superior defender and was distinguished for being good with the ball too. He didn't possess a very strong physique but he still was a solid defender, who was difficult to overcome for any attacker. Moreover, he was distinguished for his high fairness. In fact, in almost twenty years of career, he received only two yellow cards and never received a red card.
