INFO: Severino dos Ramos Durval da Silva, better known as Durval or "Sheriff," was one of the greatest defenders in the history of Sport Club do Recife and Brazilian football, distinguished by a playing style based on technical efficiency, anticipation, and silent leadership. He was fundamental in Sport's conquest of the 2008 Copa do Brasil and accumulated almost 500 games for the red-and-black club.

Main Characteristics and Playing Style:
"Traditional Defender" without Fouls: He became famous for being a defender who, despite being firm, committed very few fouls, basing his defense on anticipation and clean tackles. In a 2015 survey, it was noted that he committed only one foul in 15 rounds of the Brasileirão.

Anticipation and Positioning: Durval was not the fastest defender, but he read the game masterfully. His intelligent positioning allowed him to intercept opposing plays before the ball reached the attacker.

Skilled Ball Distribution: Due to his background in youth categories as a midfielder, he possessed excellent technique for playing out from the back, precise passes, and composure to initiate counter-attacks, making him a technically sound and reliable defender.
